This week is Samoan Language Week. This year's theme for Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week 2021, is Poupou le lotoifale. Ola manuia le anofale which means strengthen the posts of your house, for all to thrive.
When you're building a foundation for a fale (house) it can't have a weak foundation or posts. This is the same for the foundations of our families, schools and churches that play an important role in strengthening Gagana Samoa (the Samoan Language). Language is important for the foundations of our over-all well-being.
Here are some youtube links to hear and learn the song, 'Le Aute'
On Wednesday and Friday lunch times, Mrs Mareroa will be in Kakano with some Samoan-related activities.
Our learning this week:
Numeracy-Addition. We will be counting on in 1’s and 10’s to solve
addition problems.
Literacy-We are continuing to work on structuring stories with a
beginning, middle and end. They will sequence ideas and use time
connectives such as: first, last, next and then.
RE-We are continuing to learn to recognise the Holy Spirit in all of
us and how we demonstrate peace, love and joy through our daily
life.
